Today

Today I went to AC Moore and they had fun pencils that I can use as prizes for my students' behavior chart! They also had some little fuzzy bear figurines that I think my students will like too. I also got some flap books and activity books that I can hold on and use in my future years of teaching. The books were all only a dollar!!! I was in seventh heaven at this place.

We're watching a program about Kyrgykstan and bride kidnapping. It's pretty messed up. A guy's family will kidnap a girl and the women of the guy's family will forcefully try to make her wear this scarf and make her submit to agree to marry the guy. The girl's family can come and either try to force the girl into the marriage to or be an advocate for her if she doesn't want to accept. Some girls accept and others fight. They're about to show how some girls die when they resist. I personally think the custom is very disturbing but it's their culture.
